The profit motive is the healthiest motive you can teach someone, as long as you have a moral foundation to accommodate it (individual sovereignty, inalienable rights). You can’t make a profit in a moral society unless you are serving you fellow man – the greater a benefactor you are to your fellow man, the more profit you make, because society is telling you that your method of allocating resources is highly desirable. It is the highest calling to generate wealth through voluntary trade.

Some good points raised here. As Brendon Burmester, entrepreneur from figg Excel accounting solutions, says: Focus on what you want to achieve — I speak from the experience of being everywhere and traditionally being multi focused. Live your product. The best form of marketing is word of mouth so every opportunity is a moment to sell and everyone is a potential customer. Plan carefully and source good reliable suppliers. If you don’t you can waste a lot of money.

I love this video and have seen it several times. I liked it so much and its message resonated with me so much that several months ago I put it on the home page of WebToTheRescue[dot]com which is a free Entrepreneurship site that I created. There’s a large section on Entrepreneurship for kids, among the topics but Cameron’s message is so sensible and powerful that I thought it would resonate with everyone.

  • skydragon4ever:

really? or are you just boasting? I mean you are only 16! have you done other business before? Could you tell me more please?

  • skydragon4ever:

nutty professor? test your supplement first. on rats. seriously. Chemistry, nutrition and health are not to be messed with. Make sure everything is safe and your ass is protected, until you try anything on yourself and on others.
Don’t listn to parents, they often tend to be bitchy and whiny, because they didn’t come up with this themselves.
But go for it and never give up!

I’m a 17 year old with an incredible business idea! I’m really into fitness and weight-lifting and supplemntation etc. So I’ve discovered flaws in every single supplement chain out there. Jotting down a simple, EFFECTIVE formula I’ve discovered a cheap, great supplement in which I’m prepared to test on myself. I already gathered about 15 clients to buy my supplement if all goes well (at least 30 dosages for 1$ each)=about a profit of 500%…only problem is that my parents don’t approve :(

    Prove it

What an excellent talk! An eye opener for everyone. I think though that most people are blessed with this entrepreneur skill but the reason why many a times, the ‘school drop outs’ (lack of better worlds) seem to figure it out is because they get out to the real world and start thinking how to earn money since they do not have much skills to be employed. As a result, they come up with great ideas and become successful entrepreneurs!
