ITU (International Technological University), a graduate university based in Silicon Valley, will be sponsoring the 2012 Symposium of Ideas presented by Infuse Entrepreneurship Foundation on Friday, May 11, 2012. The Event will be hosted at the Brocade Amphitheatre in San Jose from 6pm – 9pm. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $ 5 and it is expected that 120 attendees will be present. The event is open to the public.

The Infuse Entrepreneurship Foundation sponsors entrepreneurial projects for students of inner-city schools which provide students with hands-on experience developing product-based businesses that solve a social or economic problem. Students this year were challenged to develop their product solutions with a green or clean technology.

During the 2012 Symposium of Ideas, students will present their final projects to a panel of judges, including:

    Treb Ryan, CEO of OpSource
Amie Gray of Data Key Consulting
Paul Whitney of Data Direct Networks
    Ian MacDonald of Infinera Corporation
Kevin Stizes, Co-Founder and COO of Moonblink Communications
And Darlene Tennes, Founder of CassQ.

Students will be competing for the opportunity to win scholarships as well as coveted internships with Silicon Valley Green and Biotechnology Firms. Three of those internships will be with Silicon Valley based graduate university, ITU.

“I have been a guest speaker at ITU on prior occasions,” said Angele Jean Thomas, Founder of Infuse Entrepreneurship Foundation. “By offering internships to our high school students, students can witness firsthand, through ITU’s global business model, how they can create their very own companies.”

As a part of their commitment to innovative educational solutions, ITU supports entrepreneurial students in bringing their ideas and technologies to market. An in-house patent and ownership policy and process framework and leading industrial expertise helps students develop their research, patent their innovations, and build a successful business model.
