Donald Blyler, Jr is Neographics 2012 “Person of the Year”

The Graphic Arts Association has named Donald Blyler, Jr as the 2012 Neographics “Person of the Year.” Donald Blyler has exemplified all the characteristics that qualified him as the 2012 “Person of the Year,” including advocacy for the graphics arts industry, community service and educational guidance. Blyler received this award of recognition at the Neographics dinner and awards ceremony on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Union League, 140 S. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA at 7:00 p.m.

In 1968, Donald Blyler Jr. (along with his wife, Mary and newborn daughter, Nicole) started on a path toward a vision. His vision; an offset printing company which would impress upon its clients and employees, superior craftsmanship, steadfast & dedicated work ethics, and excellent customer service. Through this vision he saw a valuable opportunity to provide for his family, and strengthen the community in which he lived… an opportunity to make impressions!

Donald Blyler, Jr. knows a lot about making good impressions. For the next 40 years Donald Blyler Offset continued to grow, becoming the highly reputable and competitive force. Awards and accolades came often for Donald Blyler and Donald Blyler Offset. In 1991 Donald was awarded the Lebanon Valley “Small Business Person of the Year”, and later received statewide recognition from the Pennsylvania Small Business Administration as the Eastern PA “Small Business Person of the Year” in 1992. With an excellence in business and in printing, Donald Blyler Offset was awarded not once… but twice, the SAPPI North America / Mid-Atlantic “Printer of the Year” in 2000 and 2004.

Donald served on the board of the Lebanon Career and Technology Center, often hiring many of its young graduates trained in the printing industry. For Donald and Mary, DBO became another family member, in addition to their son and daughter, DBO was a growing family; growing to 65+ full-time employees. His love of nature and the outdoors is reflected in the conservation and wildlife organizations he supports; Duck’s Unlimited, Safari Club International, Elk Foundation, and the Wild Sheep Foundation, to name a few. In addition, Donald finds time for local community organizations; he is an active member of the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, and has served on both the vestry and the financial committee of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
