IAD Elects New Presiding Committee

The foundation assembly of The International Association of Designers (IAD) elected a new presiding committee for the 2013-2015 term. The biennial election was the highlight of a week-long IAD Congress and General Assembly schedule. 15 nominations from around the world were received for the eight board vacancies.

IAD 2013-2015 President and Vice-President

Based on the votes received during the General Assembly of IAD, Dalia Sadany (Egypt) has been elected for the position of IAD President and Helen Brasinika (Greece) has been elected as the Vice President of IAD.

IAD 2013-2015 Executive Board

The 2013-2015 IAD Executive Board members are as follows: Victor Syrnev (Kyrgzstan), Katsumi Tamura (Japan), Stoel Burrowes (United States), Marwan Zgheib (Lebanon), Sharon Webber-Zvik (Israel), Anastasia Smyslova (Russia), Payal Shah (Hong Kong), Francesco Ragazzi (Italy). About Dalia Sadany, IAD President 2013-2015

Dalia Sadany is an Egyptian architect with more then twenty years of experience in interior design, landscaping and contracting. She is a writer, motivation speaker and recently TV host to Egypt’s first home makeover show. In 2013 she was elected as a candidate to the post of Minister for Scientific Research in Egypt. This year, she also founded FYE, Egypt’s first career building initiative aimed at undergraduates studying architecture and design all over Egypt. She conducted two large events and conferences, speaking to over 5,000 students. She was awarded three A’ Design Awards & nominated for a fourth in the past two years. Dalia Sadany has been honored by Egyptian universities as well as the Ministry of Tourism for emphasizing the role of design & architecture in the flourishing of Tourism in Egypt .
