Instead, they teach Spanish, French, trigonometry, calculus, Shakespeare.
No real world skills. Nothing about how to fill out tax returns, how to
prepare for a job interview, how to be COMPETITIVE in the job market, how
to invest, how to grow your own food, health insurance, personal finance,
managing a budget, setting realistic goals.

  • aussiebear22:

Ironically, this is EXACTLY the reason that ObamaCare architect gave!
People really are economically stupid…Simply because they have NEVER been
    taught.

  • cmiller8492:

Because if you taught them about budgets they’d realize how poor a job the
government is doing with our money.

  • stevemtc1:

Sir you are saying the things I have been trying to tell people for a
looooooooooong time word for word man.

  • 98abaile:

God damn, I am so lucky to be privately educated.

  • TIMOTHYWILLIAMS24:

YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU TALKING ABOUT LOL. HOW ARE ALGEBRA AND
OTHER HIGH MATH TEACHER TRYING TO AVOID THE RIGOR OF MATH BY GOING INTO
EDUCATION AND BECOMING MATH TEACHERS? ARE ALL TEACHERS QUALIFIED?? NO!!!
BUT WHAT INDUSTRY DOES NOT HAVE UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE IN THEIR FIELD???
TEACHERS PROVIDE A GREAT SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY WHEN ITS DONE
CORRECTLY!!!! SPEAKING IN ABSOLUTES ABOUT ALL PEOPLE IN AN ENTIRE
PROFESSION IS BRAINLESS AND IGNORANT. IF YOU THINK TEACHING IS SOOOOO EASY
THEN GO TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL AND HELP CHANGE THE SYSTEM INSTEAD OF BITCHING
AND COMPLAINING ON THE INTERNET. INSTEAD OF BEING RUDE TO ALL TEACHERS, GO
AND TRY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL FOR AT LEAST 3 MONTHS LOL.
I BET YOUR COCKY ASS WOULD NOT LAST 2 MONTHS IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL WHEN FACED
WITH THE REALITIES OF WHAT TEACHER HAVE GO THROUGH.

  • Jamie Walker:

But where would we be without teachers Aaron?

  • ticks4ticks4:

Exactly — child psychology, early childhood education, English, history,
Anthropology, anything ending in “studies”. Literature, Classics,
geography, even BIOLOGY– botany, chemistry, etc.

The best course I ever took was Personal Finance in my second year of
college. I didn’t get credit for the course due to a screw-up by the
university. Still, that single course changed my life and my wallet for the
better. It’s still paying off decades later. I keep telling younger
generations, if you don’t have any personal finance under your belt before
college, you are going to get screwed by those individuals who do, but have
only their best interests in mind

“Wait, you’re saying my 401k doesn’t equal $401,000 per year when I retire?
    Say it ain’t so!”

Why They Don’t Teach Personal Finance in the Publ…:

  • boletusatanicus:

They used to teach stuff like this, I remember doing lots of compound
    interest problems.

  • MrMister1227:

    Where does Computer science stand?
Kinda on the ritz about it’

  • Diabolik771:

Math is brain push-ups. I agree I had the worst teachers in public school.

  • Andrew S:

Well my high school….. lol was 95% white and half Jewish so of course
they had an elective business and personal finance class.

  • joe b:

Lol ok I was with you until the home school every kid rant. You think
America can convince millions of 7 years olds to sit in front of a computer
while mommy and daddy is a work 8am to 3pm and listen to a teach 1000 miles
away. haha u lost me there bro. Great recipe for keeping crime down as
well.. NOT. millions of kids at home alone Monday through Friday. We can
barely get them to come to school now. You think their gonna give a fuck
if they don’t even have to leave the house!!

  • EvaSlash:

Many , but not all, college graduates have no advanced intellectual
curiosity about science and the disciplines they teach so they just take
enough courses to make them qualified to stand there in a room and talk to
a bunch of kids who barely give a damn. This is especially true in the
public school system. It really is quite a mess what goes on…but hey it
is the public school system for a reason and they need some human being to
stand up there and bullshit the kids until they graduate.

  • James Rustles:

So in theory, if decent people organised and taught children personal
finance as a part of activism, this would wipe out leftism and communism in
    a generation?

  • Paul ClipMaster:

Good points.. but the Republicans are not any better with budgets. They
talk like they are, but their actions prove otherwise. You should be smart
enough to know that hahaha. There is no difference between Democrats and
Republicans. Politicians say what they need to say to get elected. Duh!!

  • Louis Cyfear:

But trigonometry was sooo Fucking valuable to my life…I can’t tell you
how many times I was in a bar fight and my knowledge of triangular
coefficients got me the victory, the girl, and the promotion.

  • Omoiyari23:

Where can i learn real personal finance ?

  • TheRedWireBlueWire:

In my public High School it was a required course… seen a couple of your
videos and unfortunately you seem to not know how the world actually works.

  • LostinBunga:

Don’t come to Ontario, Canada. Teachers make 100 000. The socialist
shithole has killed all incentives so bad that it’s actually smart for
young Canadians to become teachers. Drives me up the wall, their union is
    basically the mob.
