To get out of debt is simple, stop taking out student loans for educations
that will only benefit the corporate power structure and not yourself. I
would rather be a plumber than an illustrious executive who can’t find a
job or who is a slave to the one job he is lucky enough to find. School
debt equals fool debt. Fuck these universities and colleges!

i owe $14500 but i cant pay that debt anytime soon, i am currently paying
minimum payment. Please sugguest what to do; since i m not in collection
yet and my credit score is 718. I am worred if it goes to collection my
credit will go down. and i will loose the other credit card i have from the
same company which i haven’t used at all.

Thanks man……but I’m confused about how to get to the collection agency
in the first place. Do I just stop making payments and wait for them to
hassle me, or do I call the credit card companies and tell them I can no
longer make any payments, and wait for the collection agencies to come
    calling?

  • 84acmilan:

Thanks man for the info. I would like to know if you contacted to
collection agency or credit card company?

  • ClasherSullyVids:

I’m also in good credit standing and fortunately have not been sent to
collections as of yet but I do have almost $24,000 in credit card debt I
need to pay off and I’m really beginning to feel the squeeze. Can I
contact the banks personally to settle or does it have to go to collections
    and risk destroying my credit?

Did your credit score recover? Also were you able to get the collector to
report “paid in full” on your credit report?

Which is a better option either to send this MONEY ORDER with the above
mentioned ‘note’ to the collection agency or to the original creditor
    (credit card company)?

  • INdegenous:

Very helpful and thanks for that. Question though: did you pay first before
and then waited for the creditor or collection agency to send you the
letter in writing stating that debt is paid in full and that you have been
in fact released from original creditor and lastly that you won’t be owing
    taxes on the difference?

I am not in collections, but I do have substantial debt. About 18000. I
have been very faithful in paying and have good credit. What do you suggest
I do. Debt snowball or loan consolidation?
