No duh! Romney is rich, he probably has several millions invested overseas. His presidency will only be focused on making his and his friend’s wallets fatter.

And Outstanding Failed Champion of Black America. Obama admits, it is over, he has lost, the American people saw thru his and the Democrats Lies, and there Corruption. Now it is time to take the names of the Traitors and start rebuilding America,. LONG LIVE AMERICA, and Fuck Obama.

Chris Rugaber oversimplifies the issues and the positions without taking into consideration the impacts of robotics and automation. While jobs will not return to the US, manufacturing could as producers will find it advantageous to be closer to consumptive markets. Locating closer to markets allows the manufacturer to reduce transportation costs and to mitigate shipping losses.

He needs to understand that manufacturing matters (See Barry Bluestone) and that technological unemployment is real.

Everyone is killing themselves working meaningless jobs they hate. Forget jobs we need new IDEAS. If we direct a tiny fraction of the energy we spend working in occupational slavery to a few key areas we could be one step closer to great freedom and joy. Chiefly we would need workers for areas of food, construction, technology, medicine, engineering and science. We could consider having governments organize projects like this with VOLUNTARY registration. Just ideas folks.

This issue is a double-edged sword. If we “insource” those jobs, we’d have more jobs in the US, but the iphone would cost 10 more than it costs now. On the other hand, screw iPhones. I don’t have one and never will.

  • JogBird:

americans are too fat and entitled to do you types of jobs that are being offshored.. how many are willing to put iphones together for $0.25 an hour.. yea, thats what i thought

  • Giovanni Canella:

Like the film The Campaign…let’s do INSOURCING.

Capitalism at it’s best. Screwing people one dollar at a time. How about doing away with the minimum wage how dare families get so much. $1.50 per hour ought to be enough for any American right? Oh except for the wealthy Job Creators they are god like creating things from nothing generating wealth they are morally superior, anything but lazy like the middle class and invisible poor who are they? No the Job Creators are God’s own. Shut up America what do you think you have any say?

all cogent points to an extent, but I really wish we would focus on relaxing legislation re: intellectual property and “ethical” concerns on scientific innovation. America is still the leading producer of technology in the world, but the world’s #2,3, and 4 are Japan, China, and S. Korea. Have you been to Korea lately? Easily 10-15 years ahead of the USA. My point is, what’s the point of producing technology, if we can’t even use it? Stem Cell Research? Nope, Christian right says no!!! etc…

  • Vladimir Wardell:

When you take the polish of Romney’s plan it means making Americans ‘cheap labour’. Reducing regulations, increased worker productivity, really means getting rid of various health and safety rules while being able to force you to work harder by threatening you with losing your job if you don’t like it. Democrats and Republicans did little to stop the flow of immigrants because there would be plenty of folks to take your job when you burn out. The rich stay rich, your quality of life goes to hell.

Americans can’t compete with FoxComm, plan and simple. I love my country, God knows I do but when Americans are asking for a minimum of $8.25/hr and these Asians at most are asking for @1.50/hr then WTF do you expect private companies to do? I really wish people would think for a second about how much more the luxuries they enjoy would cost if they were made in the U.S.A. because of inflation.

  • Josephdaz1:

Over his four years in office, Obama promised that he would focus on creating “jobs that pay well and can’t be outsourced.” However, as he racked up trillions in new debt, billions of dollars did go to create jobs that were outsourced or spent overseas. Whether it is electric cars made in Finland or solar panels in Mexico,

taxpayers would be astonished to learn that their hard earned money went abroad for jobs that weren’t created in the United States.
