Today, these trends have reached their extreme – but in the wake of their collapse, we may find great opportunity to transition to a more connected, ecological, and sustainable way of being. • transangeltube:

Could our purpose be to understand that human nature is a destructive selfish force that lusts for power and control at its own demise and that we may be here to survive as “Spirit” seeds that will soon cross over with this knowledge? < —Hmm Did I just say that? ;)

  • worldofindigos:

The old human being is wasting its energy to adness and self-pitty. The new human being uses her or his energy to get the best out of any situation.

  • clouddonshore:

forgiveness is smaller than the law and money is smaller then any product so we need an idea that is even smaller then the sources of power from all these old empires.

  • clouddonshore:

He uses old ideas which makes him understandable but nothing is ideologically violent enough. Restraint isn’t going to spread like a virus through all people.

  • MKPeillet:

Brilliant! A great analysis and a great message we need to spread. Thank you. I deeply appreciate and enjoy.

COOOL!!! Time to wake up from our destructive way of living within the competition systematic reality !

  • pampulhapijao:

We believe the world was given to us -a gift- and therefore we can use it as we want, but don’t realise that it took millions of years of evolution and that we are part of that process (just another species). So why do we want to destroy it so hastily?

  • romel1309:

  • techcafe:

Money is our God. Consumer capitalism the new religion. It is the source of exploitation, environmental degradation, conflict & war, misery and suffering worldwide.

  • Circumvenscion:

Awesome video, keep it up everyone. Share it far and wide.

So Charles has proved himself to be the next evangelist of woo based on middle America’s view of the world and a less than informed set of factual understanding and a completely biased and non-scientific interpretation of some of them.

The shame is that he is nearly there but he doesn’t have a global solution. There is probably little harm in his preachings but he does provide ammunition for the hardliners if they want to use this as unrealistic thinking.

    Science and its methodology, forward

  • AlemanJuan:

when he says “i think we’re going to see a series of crises” as opposed to “we are seeing crises generated by capital as marx described” i think maybe he’s lacking a theoretical framework that could make this approach more understandable. i could be wrong, i don’t want to live in a world where we have to cite marx each time humanity has a radical idea, it’s just that this presentation seems to critique capitalism without mentioning capital or capitalism… what are we afraid of?

  • jbdazen:

No, the interesting thing is that ‘Abundance’ sort of combines these ideas. Kurzweil is pure technology. Eisenstein mainly seems to go for massive change in attitude. ‘Abundance’ ties them together in a more realistic and down-to-earth way. But I’ll check out these books because it’s always nice to learn about different angles.

  • ianmacktube:

if it’s based on the idea of technological utopian-ism (where technology alone will save us) then it’s not enough. Charles lays out why in his previous book The Ascent of Humanity. But I’ll check it out.
